It was cold the night we watched Roma. We huddled together in a nearly full Ithaca theater to take in the latest from Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men, Y Tu Mama Tambien,Gravity), which was a portrait of Cleo, the housekeeper/maid/nanny of a Mexico City family in the 1970s, that was at turns harrowing, moving, touching, and perplexing. There was so much there to tease out! Tease out we did. –C.
